I was born in Seattle, Washington and grew up in the East Bay Area. I graduated Highschool in 1980, attended Diablo Valley College for two years and earned a AA degree in 1982. I then attened CSU, Chico for 3 years and graduated from there with a BS in Computer Science in 1985. I worked as a software engineer for various Silicon Valley companies from May 1985 to January 2019. While working, I went back to CSUC parttime from 2004 to 2008 and earned an MS in Computer Science so that I could teach at the university. I am now semi-retired, teaching CS courses parttime at CSUC which I really enjoy. When I'm not teaching I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading or listening to music. I love having summers off! I like to ride my motorcycle and mountain bike off-road. I have been serving in my local community as a volunteer firefighter since 2015. My favorite vacation spot is Disneyland. I am active in a local church congregation.
